About Prajna — The Hands of Wisdom
A registered non-profit trust in Greater Noida, founded by parents, for children who deserve to be met where they are.
Prajna is a non-profit trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act with registration number 361/2019. It was founded by Akshay Kumar and Dr. Kirti Tiwari, parents of two neurodivergent children, Chaitanya and Lokshit. Their personal experience became the foundation of a larger mission: to create a caring, inclusive and practical learning space for children with special needs.
The journey began in 2019 with the founders' own children. Over the years, Prajna has grown from a small beginning into a community of children, parents, teachers, therapists, volunteers and well-wishers. Today, Prajna supports 30+ children through special education, therapy, activities, day care, vocational training and social development.
Prajna believes that children with special needs progress better when they receive structured support, loving guidance, social interaction and opportunities to learn by doing. We also believe that inclusion benefits everyone: children with special needs learn communication and social behaviour, while other children learn empathy, kindness and cooperation.
Our aim is not only to care for and educate children with disabilities, but also to help them build confidence, independence and dignity. Prajna works to create a society where every child can participate, contribute and feel valued.

Our journey
2019 — Prajna is founded
Akshay Kumar and Dr. Kirti Tiwari, parents of two neurodivergent children, register Prajna as a trust under the Indian Trusts Act (registration number 361/2019) and begin with their own children.
A school takes shape
Special education, occupational therapy and speech support are established as regular daily programmes, alongside day care for families who need it.
Skills for independence
Vocational and pre-vocational training begins — candles, agarbatti, jute work, bag making and gardening — giving older students practical skills and a product to be proud of.

Today — 30+ children supported
Prajna now supports more than 30 children with a team of over 10 staff, across education, therapy, day care, vocational training, computer education, sports and community inclusion.

What families say
My son has found his voice at Prajna. The teachers celebrate every small step, and so now does he.
